Artist's Description
This 2d mixed media artwork is created with multiple layers. The canvas is wrapped with black velvet ribbon around the edges of the canvas. The background is handmade paper. The birds wing and beak are collage; the remainder of the bird is created with acrylic paint. The branches are created with 3 types of handmade paper and are layered with mica flakes to add a bit of sparkle.

Over the years I’ve worked with many different media, always focusing on color and texture to develop richness and depth. I love experimenting with new techniques and materials to constantly challenge myself. My 2-D mixed media artwork is comprised of collage and acrylic paint.
