Artist's Description
This 2d mixed media artwork is created with multiple layers. The canvas is wrapped with black velvet ribbon around the edges of the canvas. The background is handmade paper. The bird's wing and beak are collage; the remainder of the bird is created with acrylic paint. The branch is created with 3 types of handmade paper and is layered with mica flakes to add a bit of sparkle.

Over the years I’ve worked with many different media, always focusing on color and texture to develop richness and depth.
